Uh-oh. It's another GWC rant.
"Thanks, Travis. Anybody you want to thank?" What? Is there anybody I want to thank?!?
Sometimes I wish they'd ask me some of these questions. I mean, can't you just see me standing down there in victory lane, microphone in hand, right out of the Subaru Forester 25-lap event.
"Is there anybody I want to thank? Hell, no! I did it myself. I put gas in the car, I make the payments on it, I drive it over here to the track. I called my brother, and he said he wouldn't help me. I called my dad, and he told me he was going golfing. "Is there anybody I want to thank? Do you see any sponsors on this heap of scrap metal? Do you? Do you see even one? No -- I didn't think so. I'm not thanking anyone. "I'm the man." Or something to that effect. * Ricky Rolfe stayed true to his words to chase the big paychecks this season. After winning the American-Canadian Tour New England Dodge Dealers 150 at Oxford back in April, Rolfe said he wasn't chasing points. He said he was going wherever the most money was being offered. That being said, Rolfe is a noticeable absentee from the Oxford pit area today -- though reports were that he was going to try to make it back to the track after running the 30-lap Late Model feature at Wiscasset Raceway late this afternoon. That race ended about an hour ago. He was just 1 point behind Late Model championship leader Travis Adams in the OPS standings entering the night. * In case you were wondering, there is a master plan for Green-White-Checker. We're going to launch a full-fledged Web site in the coming weeks. In the meantime, you may have noticed that we've added photo albums, live real-time results for the events we're covering and a new banner to the blog. Logos and graphics are in the works. Hope you like it, and hope you'll keep reading. There's been a lot of talk in the national media about internet journalism versus traditional print media. I don't truly know that there's an answer for any of it, but I do know this much: What you'll see at GWC will continue to be the same kind of motorsports coverage you got here before it was a blog and before a Web site ever came to mind. I write the stories, formulate the opinions and shoot most of the photos. I stand behind what's here. Tell your friends about GWC. I mean, if they don't come read it, they're going to perpetuate Bob Dillner's lie that there's no short-track racing coverage anywhere except at his site. Now, if I can just find a couple of advertisers, this thing might really take off. That reminds me -- Hey Godfather! You owe me another buck.
When I see some return on that investment we'll negotiate another 1 week deal.

Nice job escaping the parents' basement and joining us Saturday night.
Also, don't forget that any self-respecting driver must thank God, Mama and the boys back at the shop.

Yeah, don't ever forget to mention Cooter, Ray-Ray and the rest of the guys back at the shop. And why is it when you do ask the driver about certain guys "back at the shop." They never know their last names?
Driver: "Jimmy, my setup guy, he hit it just right tonight."
Reporter: "What's Jimmy's last name."
Driver: "I'm not sure, he's just Jimmy, he's been coming to the shop for like 10 years now."
Reporter: "And you don't know his last name?"
Driver: "Nah, he's just Jimmy."

You also must include the phrase, "I hate that it happened" in reference to planting some other poor sucker into the concrete on lap 272.
