Matt Kobyluck wins Edge Hotel 150 at Adirondack; Dillon unofficially 3rd
Life on his own is proving, well, interesting for Austin Dillon.
The driver who apparently finished 3rd in Saturday night’s Camping World East Series Edge Hotel 150 at Adirondack International Speedway in Beaver Falls, N.Y., had all 4 of his shocks confiscated by NASCAR following the race. Matt Kobyluck was the race winner, his 2nd straight CWES victory and his 3rd win in 6 starts at Adirondack.
The issue with Dillon’s shocks, according to one source, was that they showed an inappropriate compression and rebound ratio.
Shocks are supposed to compress and then rebound within a certain time frame.
"NASCAR has a machine that measures this and it is done in front all the competitors," the source said. "Well, Dillon’s shocks never even moved."
The rookie Dillon led Kobyluck by 5 points in the championship standings entering the weekend, so pending the Edge Hotel 150 becoming official, Kobyluck will emerge with the lead as he seeks his first series title. Dillon has not won since leaving Andy Santerre Motorsports to compete out of his family’s own race shop midway through the current season.
Trevor Bayne, who posted his first career victory at Thompson International Speedway 2 weeks ago, was second.
Eddie MacDonald was fourth.

I guess since Nascar set a precedence with ASM and Peyton Sellers in the season opener for a single shock violation, the same penalty should happen here with Austin Dillon...OR, does $$$ buy some things????
