After seeing Rick Martin celebrate an apparent first-place finish in victory lane at the Pepsi Full Fendered Frenzy 75, Rowe had to wait almost 2 full days before PASS president Tom Mayberry released an official finish on Monday afternoon. Martin was penalized one position for jumping the race's final restart from the pole position. Johnny Clark was 3rd, while Trevor Sanborn and Derek Ramstrom rounded out the top-5. Ben Rowe has been declared the winner of the PASS North Series event at Thompson International Speedway.
"After reviewing this event it was determined that the 14 car of Rick Martin had numerous borderline restarts," Mayberry said through a release. "On the final restart at lap 74, with no respect for PASS race procedures or his fellow competitors, he left on his own with a two car length lead.
"As all the drivers were told in the drivers’ meeting, you cannot steal a finish by jumping the restart. We felt his jumping of the restart cost any other driver a chance of winning and cost the fans an exciting, side-by-side finish."
The win is Rowe's 2nd in 6 starts this season. He has 5 top-5 finishes.
Martin was making his 3rd start of the season. The 2nd-place finish was his first top-10.
