For the 2nd straight event, the PASS North Series saw a first-time visitor to one of its victory lanes.
Travis Benjamin tuned up for a his hometown 250-lap event next week by holding off Ben Rowe and John Fleming to win the Atlantic Cat 250 on Saturday night at Scotia Speedworld in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
Benjamin, a former Camping World East Series regular and longtime PASS supporter, was on the verge of winning all season – having hired 2 full-time employees this season to help prepare his race cars.
The series moves to Wiscasset Raceway next weekend for the lucrative New England Toyota Tundra 250. Benjamin has an extra-distance Super Late Model win at Wiscasset – having been credited with a 100-lap ‘open’ win last September.
Derek Ramstrom became a 1st-time winner when he won the rain-delayed All-Star 200 in Epping, N.H., on July 30.
