Joey Logano will make Sprint Cup Series debut at New Hampshire Motor Speedway

Logano mug New England race fans get an added – albeit unexpected – bonus at New Hampshire Motor Speedway next weekend.

Joey Logano will make his NASCAR Sprint Cup Series debut in the Sylvania 300 at the track.

Qualifying was washed out at Richmond on Friday, and with it, so, too, were Logano’s plans to debut the No. 02 Home Depot Toyota as a fourth entry for Joe Gibbs Racing. The team will bring that car to New Hampshire for the Sylvania 300.

Logano, an 18-year-old Connecticut native, won the Camping World East Series championship last year as a rookie while sweeping the East Series races at NHMS.

Logano was ninth-fastest – fastest of all the JGR teams of Kyle Busch, Tony Stewart and Denny Hamlin – in Friday’s practice for the Chevy Rock ‘n Roll 400.
