LOUDON, N.H. -- Shortly after practice concluded on Thursday morning, Eddie MacDonald wasn’t so sure about his chances to pull off a season sweep at New Hampshire Motor Speedway.
By mid-afternoon, MacDonald had found his touch – qualifying third for Friday’s Heluva Good! 125 for the NASCAR Camping World East Series.
Peyton Sellers won the pole, his third of the season. Former Cup Series driver Steve Park was second.
MacDonald pulled off a stunning upset at NHMS in late June, winning for the first time at New England’s largest speedway under the guidance of crew chief Rollie LaChance. He was just 10th fastest in practice on Thursday and said the car hadn’t been all that good.
The team changed shocks prior to qualifying and the car took off.
"It was great," MacDonalds said. "We don’t usually qualify too good, but it was awesome. We need to have some good runs at the end of the season here."

Eddie, Rollie.. the whole Grimm Construction team crew... ROCK!!! I'm watching closely... Eddie is out front at lap 69 after taking the lead from the DEI #1 on lap 38. Man... these guys are just incredible... on a shoe string budget no less.
Why can't one of these big dollar teams, Roush, DEI, Hendrick, Gillete-Evernham... see what a massive opportunity they're missing in Eddie MacDonald. Not no mention the set-up and crew chief brilliance of Rollie LaChance. I just don't get it. Instead these teams want to put nephews and other family members in the cars...
EARN IT LIKE THE #71 TEAM DOES!!!
Whew! I'm done! Enjoy the races.. I'm headed to Loudon for tomorrow's Cup race.
