Dylan Lancaster collects 1st Mini Stock championship
Maurice Young’s mission is finally complete.
On Sunday, more than a year after he thought he’d already accomplished his ultimate goal, Young became the all-time championship leader at Wiscasset Raceway. Young, of Windsor, won his 13th Strictly Street feature of the season and clinched his track-record seventh championship.
Six of Young’s titles have come in the Strictly Street ranks and one came in the Late Model division. The seventh title breaks a tie with Scott Chubbuck, who won five of his six championships in the Super Late Model division.
Young announced after the victory that it would likely be his last Strictly race of his career, as he will be stepping up to the Late Model division – as was FIRST REPORTED BY GREEN-WHITE-CHECKER earlier this month. Young is purchasing a car from Johnny Clark, a three-time PASS North Series champion and former Wiscasset weekly competitor.
Young now has 61 career wins at Wiscasset.

Teenager Dylan Lancaster of Skowhegan won his first track title on Sunday, locking down the Mini Stock championship with a fifth-place finish.
It wasn’t too long ago (last year?) that Wiscasset combined its two Mini Stock classes into one, and I remember talking to both Dylan and brother Bryan about their concerns. Competing against the "A" division cars provided some real headaches.
It’s obvious Dylan and the team got things going the right way this year with 15 top-5 finishes, tops in the division. That’s a fine effort.
