They won't have Ricky Rolfe to kick around at Oxford Plains Speedway on Saturday nights anymore.
Or, better put, Rolfe won't be kicking around the competition at the track after winning six races there last season. Rolfe announced this morning that he is teaming up with car owner Mark Brackett to field the No. 51me full-time on the American-Canadian Late Model Tour in 2009.
Rolfe has two career ACT wins to his credit, including the New England Dodge Dealers 150 at Oxford last season.
"I'm hoping we can win of the races and get into that (Late Model Invitational at New Hampshire Motor Speedway in September)," Rolfe said earlier this week.
Rolfe is a former champion of both the Super Late Model and Late Model divisions at Oxford Plains.
In a press release making the announcement, Brackett and Rolfe said they may attempt to run a few weekly 40-lap features at Oxford on off-weekends for ACT.
Brackett Mechanical Inc., Otis Federal Credit Union and the NAPA Auto Parts store in East Wilton will provide sponsorship to Rolfe, who finished second in the 2004 Oxford 250.

It was pretty cool watching another Maine racer, Glen Luce, compete successfully on the ACT Tour in 2008. Ricky will be a terrific addition. Cant wait to see him run at T-Road.

Rolfe builds a good portion of the cars that compete on that tour...You would have to figure that he will do well....and also be available to his customers this way too....
He's a great racer...and a talented chassis builder...what an addition to this tour!
It's going to be fun this summer!

Its good to see another team from me. running ACT. Rick could be a serious title contender and maybe even end up winning at N.H.I.S. would'nt that be cool. Rick is a great guy and I wish him the best of luck in 09 unless Im running against him, in that case I'd like him to finish second. good luck rick.
