Finally, Bobby MacArthur lived up to his self-prescribed nickname, "The Showstoppa."
All-Star Speedway was stripped of its NASCAR sanction on Thursday, just days after the track canceled a program following a low turnout for racing last Saturday night.
A total of only 15 cars showed up that night for a scheduled NASCAR Whelen All-American Series racing program at the Epping, N.H., track being run by MacArthur.
"We don't comment on specifics of our agreements with our tracks," NASCAR spokesperson Jason Christley said in an e-mail. "There were several issues that have caused our terminating the sanction agreement, effective immediately. We wish Bobby MacArthur the best of luck.”
Competitors at All-Star are being notified of the change via letters NASCAR sent out on Thursday. According to Christley, they were informed that they will keep their NASCAR points to date toward the NWAAS standings and they will recieve their NASCAR point fund money based on the standings to date.
MacArthur, of Beverly, Mass., was arrested in late May for writing fraudulent checks, checks believed to have been made out to PASS president Tom Mayberry.
"I can't and won't comment on the situation, but let's wait 'til the truth comes out in court about the situation," MacArthur wrote on an internet message board at the time of the arrest, under his psydoneum "Showstoppa." "It's not always what you read, and its never what its perceived to be.
"There's an awful lot (more) to the story than any of you would know, and I can't wait (until) the truth comes out."
MacArthur has been battling with town officials in Epping since before the start of the season. After a warrant was issued for his arrest for the bad checks, totaling more than $25,000, he was arrested when he went to the town hall to pay a weekly $500 fee for money he owed the Epping Police Department for providing security at races in 2008.

travis try to be a real journalist for once and get both sides of a story before you run your mouth,i dont see anywhere about the town being paid in full and my license's being issued this past monday.
and you will soon be eating your words regarding the pass issue also.

Wow. As competitors at the Waterford Speedbowl learned last year, you REALLY have to screw up to get a NASCAR sanction pulled.

OK, folks. You heard it. Bobby said the town's been paid in full.
OK?
I'm not sure I've been "running my mouth." You were stripped of your NASCAR sanction, and I reported it.
You also called off the show last week because of a low turnout, and I reported it.
You were arrested in May, and I reported it.
Yes, Bobby, you got me. I made it all up. Just running my mouth, you know, trying to kill off short track racing one facility at a time.

hey (BOOBIE) I HAVE NEVER PRAYED SO HARD FOR A TRACK 2 FAIL AS YOURS YOU MORON

It was just a matter of time for All Star to fail. Its too bad that the drivers have been treated so poorly by a track owner.

It's too bad more people didn't listen to me when MacArthur started down this path a couple years ago. Maybe if they had, there would be a few less people burned now.

I should add that the Bobby MacArthurs of the world appear to be the rule, rather than the exception with regard to newer promoters/track opporators.
Maybe it's small profit margins, but the majority of new track promoters in the last 5 - 10 years have gotten in way over their heads, and most have been truely bad.
For every one that is like a Mike Perrotte (very successful), there are 4 or 5 Bobby MacArthurs, David Lescords, and Dennis Fleurys.

Why don't people leave Bobby Mac alone he has done more for the track then a lot of people know about and wants to do more if people would let him and stop the rumors that hurt him and the track.

Where are the rumors? He bounced checks. FACT. Got arrested? FACT. Cancelled a show due to low car count? FACT. Lost his NASCAR sanction? FACT.
McArthur doesn't need nasty rumors to take his reputation down. The facts are enough to do the job.

And the last Mod race none of the teams were paid!!!! We still havent received our money.....So The rumors are FACT!!!! And to Bobby.....just crawl back into your hole and leave the Racing comunity alone....You sucked as a driver and the proof is in the pudding as a promoter......
