AT RACING: Austin Theriault Finishes 3rd In ACT Spring Green 112 At Devil's Bowl

WEST HAVEN, Vt. – Austin Theriault of Fort Kent, Maine, led a Ford Motor Company sweep of the podium Sunday afternoon, posting his eighth Top-5 in his last nine races by finishing third in the ACT Late Model Tour Spring Green 112 at Devil's Bowl Speedway in West Haven, Vt. Theriault recovered from a poor draw in qualifying, starting 20th in the main event before driving all the way into the Top-10 by Lap 50. Six laps later, the No. 57 Pelletier Ford Ford Fusion was in sixth place with his sights set on the battle between leaders Wayne Helliwell Jr. and Joey Polewarczyk Jr. With worn-out tires, Theriault had to settle for third with a car that had advanced more positions than any other driver in the field at the checkered flag.

AT RACING: Austin Theriault Heads To ACT Spring Green 112 At Devil's Bowl

FORT KENT, Maine – Austin Theriault of Fort Kent, Maine, will tackle Devil's Bowl Speedway in West Haven, Vt., for the first time with his family-owned team in the ACT Late Model Tour Spring Green 112 on Sunday, May 6. The 18-year-old high school senior and Brad Keselowski Racing development driver has finished in the Top-10 in eight consecutive ACT races dating back to July of 2011, and he's hoping to rebound from a tough day at Thunder Road International Speedbowl last weekend. While driving for RPM Motorsports in the 2011 Spring Green, Theriault was caught up in two separate incidents that forced him to retire early from the event after qualifying on the outside of the second row.

AUSTIN THERIAULT: Theriault Completes Busy Weekend With Pair Of Top-10 Finishes

BARRE, Vt. – Planes, trains and automobiles. That's what it felt like for Austin Theriault this weekend.

The 18-year-old Brad Keselowski Racing development driver hit opposite ends of the East Coast in a three-day span, posting a career-best Super Late Model finish of 5th in Florida less than 48 hours before returning to New England to post a Top-10 run in ACT Late Model Tour action at Thunder Road International Speedbowl.

“It was a long weekend, a lot of miles and a lot of racing, but I had a lot of fun, too,” Theriault said after finishing ninth Sunday in the Merchants Bank 150 at Thunder Road. “The Late Model, the Super Late Model – they both have four tires, but they really drive a lot different. At first, honestly, I don't think I even realized how different they can be. But getting out here (at Thunder Road) and jumping into the Late Model and launching off into that first turn this weekend, it was like, 'Whoa.'”

AUSTIN THERIAULT: Theriault Ready To Tackle ACT Competition At Thunder Road

AUSTIN THERIAULT: Theriault Finishes 3rd In ACT Opener At Lee USA Speedway

LEE, N.H. – Austin Theriault of Fort Kent, Maine, picked up where he left off last season, finishing third in the ACT Late Model Tour season-opening NH Governor's Cup 150 at Lee USA Speedway in Lee, N.H., on Sunday, April 15. The finish marked Theriault's seventh consecutive Top-10 finish in ACT competition dating back to July of 2011, and it was also the best career finish at Lee USA Speedway for the driver of the AT Racing No. 57 Pelletier Ford Ford Fusion. Theriault advanced 16 positions from his starting position of 19th, but a rash of late-race restarts slowed his progress toward the front.

KINSTON, Ala. – Austin Theriault of Fort Kent, Maine, finished seventh in the caution-filled Rattler 250 at South Alabama Speedway in Kinston, Ala., on Sunday, March 4. Theriault started 11th in the Brad Keselowski Racing No. 29 Checkered Flag Foundation Dodge after rain washed out all on-track activity on Saturday, and then he patiently avoided a slew of wrecks around him to post his best career Super Late Model finish. Theriault had worked into the Top-10 during the first half of the event, before another competitor's car spun into him and hurt the left rear of the No. 29. The team made several pit stops to try and repair the handling on Theriault's car, using some tire strategy en route to the seventh-place finish at the checkered flag.

CORDELE, Ga. – Austin Theriault of Fort Kent, Maine, posted his best career Super Late Model result by finishing eighth in the season-opening CRA Speedfest 200 at Watermelon Capital Speedway in Cordele, Ga., on Sunday, January 29. Theriault started 16th in the Brad Keselowski Racing No. 29 Checkered Flag Foundation Dodge after an engine problem in practice on Friday, and then he used the pit strategy game to post a Top-10 finish in his third career start for BKR. Theriault pitted for right side tires only at the halfway mark of the event, which was won by NASCAR Sprint Cup Series driver Kyle Busch, to gain the track position he would maintain until the finish.

AT RACING: Austin Theriault Announces Plans For 2012 Season

FORT KENT, Maine – Austin Theriault of Fort Kent, Maine, will try and complete some unfinished business this season while also setting out on a new venture in his racing career.

Theriault will run the complete ACT Late Model Tour schedule in 2012 as he chases his first career Tour championship, while the 17-year-old will also run more than half a dozen Super Late Model events as a development driver for Brad Keselowski Racing.

“We've had all kinds of good opportunities in the last couple of years and learned from all of them,” said Theriault, who made his debut with BKR in the World Crown 300 at Gresham Motorsports Park in Jefferson, Ga., last November. "I know it all has happened fast, but I feel everything happens for a reason and I'm ready for the challenge.

“I'm really looking forward to this season."

AUSTIN THERIAULT: Theriault Impresses In Brad Keselowski Racing Debut

CONCORD, N.C. – Austin Theriault finished 12th in the PASS-sanctioned Mason-Dixon Meltdown 200 at Concord Motorsports Park on Saturday, wrapping up an impressive debut with Brad Keselowski Racing (BKR) this month.

Theriault made his first start with the team in the crash-marred World Crown 300 at Gresham Motorsports Park in Jefferson, Ga., two weeks earlier.

“The opportunity to race for BKR is something not a lot of people can say they have,” said Theriault, 17, of Fort Kent, Maine. “Just being able to show your talent on the southern stage is something a lot of people want to be able to do. Anything we can do in the future with (Gary Crooks and Wayne Setteringon) at BKR will be great for us.

“Everything's looking pretty decent right now. We came out of these two races looking like there's going to be an ongoing future relationship. I'm not sure about specifics right now – it's too soon to know anything for certain – but I'm excited about whatever the future holds.”

AT RACING: Back-To-Back Top-10s Cap Austin Theriault's Sophomore Season

BARRE, Vt. – Austin Theriault put the finishing touches on a tremendous second half to the ACT Late Model Tour Season this weekend, posting a fifth-place finish in the Rent-A-Wreck Fall Foliage 200 at Airborne Speedway in the Tour finale on Saturday.

Theriault followed that effort with a ninth-place showing in the 49th annual People's United Bank Milk Bowl on Sunday.

“Overall, we had a decent weekend,” Theriault said. “Fifth to round out the season at Airborne, that kind of made up for our finish (in the Milk Bowl). The guys worked hard.”

Theriault closed the 2011 ACT season with six straight Top-5 finishes dating all the way back to Beech Ridge Motor Speedway at the end of July. Unoffcially, the late surge put him third in the final standings.

AT RACING: Austin Theriault Ready For Double Duty Weekend On ACT Tour

Austin Theriault of Fort Kent, Maine, looks to cash in on a first career victory when the ACT Late Model Tour stages marquee events on back-to-back days this weekend. First, the ACT Late Model Tour wraps up its regular season with the Fall Foliage 200 at Airborne Speedway in Plattsburgh, N.Y., on Saturday, October 8, before heading to Thunder Road International Speedbowl in Barre, Vt., for the rain-delayed 49th annual Milk Bowl on Sunday, October 9. Theriault has posted five consecutive Top-5 finishes in ACT points races entering the Fall Foliage 200 – a combination race for the ACT Late Model Tour and the ACT Castrol Series. Theriault is looking to qualify for a second consecutive Milk Bowl on Sunday, where he will field the very same No. 57 Varney Insurance Ford that he competes in on Saturday at Airborne.

AT RACING: Austin Theriault Finishes 11th In 3rd annual ACT Invitational

LOUDON, N.H. – Austin Theriault of Fort Kent, Maine, finished 11th in the ACT Late Model Tour's 3rd annual ACT Invitational at New Hampshire Motor Speedway on Saturday, September 24. Theriault started 24th after a brief, rain-shortened practice session in the morning, and made steady progress toward the front in the quick, 50-lap sprint race. Despite the slightly missing on the adjustments for the changing track conditions on the AT Racing No. 57 Varney Insurance Ford, Theriault was able to pick his way through the traffic to take the car to the 11th position. Austin Theriault will race next at Thunder Road International Speedbowl in Barre, Vt., in the 49th Annual People's United Milk Bowl next weekend.

AT RACING: Austin Theriault Looks To Grab First Win At New Hampshire

FORT KENT, Maine – Austin Theriault enjoyed every minute of his coming-out party at New Hampshire Motor Speedway last month.

On Saturday, Theriault hopes to celebrate an even better performance.

The 17-year-old ACT Late Model Tour sophomore driver joins 42 other Late Model teams from across the northeast and Canada in the 3rd annual ACT Invitational at New Hampshire on Saturday. Teams will practice in the morning before taking the green flag for the 50-lap ACT Invitational shortly after 5:30 p.m.

“It definitely drives different than any other track. No matter what car you're in, you have to approach this kind of track differently,” Theriault said of the flat, 1.058-mile oval.” Loudon – I wouldn't call it a crap-shoot – but there's a lot more variables there than in regular short-track racing.”

AT RACING: Austin Theriault Posts Fifth Straight Top-5 On ACT Late Model Tour

STE-CROIX, Que. – Austin Theriault of Fort Kent, Maine, continued to roll along on the ACT Late Model Tour, posting a pair of strong finishes in a doubleheader weekend north of the border. Theriault finished eighth in the 24-car ACT Budweiser Showdown at Chaudiere 200 all-star race at Autodrome Chaudiere on Saturday, September 10, and the 17-year-old then posted a fourth-place effort the very next day in the postponed Can-Am 200 at Circuit Riverside in Ste-Croix, Que. It marked the fifth straight Top-5 finish for the AT Racing No. 57 Varney Insurance Ford in ACT points events and moved him up one spot to fourth in the overall ACT standings with one race remaining.

AT RACING: Austin Theriault Looks To Extend Top-5 Streak In ACT Doubleheader

Austin Theriault of Fort Kent, Maine, will cross north of the border into Canada fueled by five straight top-five finishes when he races in the ACT Late Model Tour Budweiser Showdown at Chaudiere at Autodrome Chaudiere in Vallee-Jonction, Que. on Saturday, September 10. The following day Sunday, September 11, Theriault will return to Circuit Riverside in Ste-Croix, Que., to tackle the large, flat oval in the rain-delayed Can-Am 200. In last year’s Budweiser Showdown, Theriault helped the U.S.-based American-Canadian Tour late model teams win a year’s worth of bragging rights with a fifth place finish in the All-Star event. Theriault then heads to Riverside, where qualifying was completed two weeks ago and he will start 10th.

BARRE, Vt. – Austin Theriault of Fort Kent, Maine, continued his recent hot streak on the ACT Late Model Tour, finishing fifth in the Bond Auto Labor Day Classic 200 at Thunder Road International Speedbowl in Barre, Vt., on Sunday, September 4. Theriault has posted Top-5 finishes in five consecutive starts dating back to late July. After winning his heat race, Theriault's car was found too low in technical inspection and sent to the back of the consolation race. Theriault battled from the back of the consolation and B-Feature to earn the 25th starting position. The fifth-place finish marks Theriault's best career finish at Thunder Road International Speedbowl.
