Joey Polewarczyk Jr. of Hudson, N.H., finished fifth in the second ACT 100 at New Smyrna Speedway in New Smyrna Beach, Fla., on Monday, February 14, to win the inaugural two-race ACT Goodyear Speedweeks Cup. Polewarczyk, who won Sunday night's 100-lap event, won the title by a single point over Brian Hoar. After starting 18th in the 26-car field, Polewarczyk piloted the No. 97 Pole's Automotive/NH Precision Ford Fusion to the lead in just 67 laps, briefly staying on the point until the handling on his car started to fade after a hard battle to the front. With the overall championship, Polewarczyk has now claimed the last four ACT events in a row -- dating back to last September in the ACT Invitational at New Hampshire Motor Speedway.
